Travel Week #9 Year #2 (8/29-9/04) – Cullman, AL
A calm and quiet Sunday to rest.
Official start to the school year even though the kids have been working on stuff for about a month, and a chance to run off some energy before the hurricane blew in.
Perfect opportunity to study hurricanes in our Weather Science book while Ida blew around us. Nothing major where we were, just a lot of rain. Not very much wind.
Waiting for school books and rerouting packages.
Exploring a new grocery store. Publix is a pretty nice store.
Touring the Alabama Space and Rocket Center and visiting with old friends.
Errands and NEW BIKES đ

At Cullman Campground in Cullman, AL. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a picture of our site. There was a fantastic open field that the kids got to spend a fair amount of time in (when it wasn’t raining from Hurricane Ida).

Our official first day of school, although they have all been doing some work for at least a month. PsyDoug is taking the lead on most of the school this year.

Going through the solar system. They had a scale model to show the distance of the planets and their relative sizes.

DestinEeve and Loudred got a lot of information from our expert tour guide. Joe had worked on different projects that were on display in different parts of the center.
