Spent the morning in Urgent Care to get PsyDoug’s ankle x-rayed from his fall the day before. Nothing is broken, just badly sprained. We will monitor it for tendon damage as the swelling goes down. The van was still in waiting in queue for service, so ChimSta had to drive the truck through the campground for the first time!
Quiet week of all the normal stuff – bills & paperwork, school, catching up on our field trip notes, laundry, etc.
Finally went to pick up the van on Thursday even though they hadn’t gotten to work on it yet. Evidently, their whole service department had been shut down because of the CV. Thankfully, they said we could bring it back on Monday and keep our place in the queue. I got to have a shopping day to myself and did a little random stuff.
Saturday we drove to New Orleans, LA. Got two Jr Ranger badges in one stop in the French Quarter. Then drove past the Superdome to check another NFL stadium off of Loudred’s list. When we got home we celebrated with a gluten free King Cake that ChimSta found at a local store.

PsyDoug slipped on a rug coming down the steps from our bedroom and twisted his ankle really badly. He went to Urgent Care to for xrays just to be sure it wasn’t broken. Just a bad sprain and we’ll need to monitor it over the next couple of weeks for tendon damage.
Harold is plotting his revenge for the cone of shame
PsyDoug likes ChimSta’s big smile. She was just happy that I didn’t hit anything!
The train is not as close here as it was at the AirBnB, but we still hear it constantly. At least it only vibrates the camper and doesn’t shake the whole thing.

ChimSta made a mistake with getting the GPS directions to the Saints stadium and we ended up at their training field instead. Kind of neat experience to see that, too.

What was left of the King Cake we had for dessert after going to New Orleans. I found a nice little local organic store that had gluten free ones available. King Cake is a specialty in the Gulf Region during Carnival season (Jan 6, which is the 12th night of Christmas, until the day before Ash Wednesday when Lent begins.)
Mom’s first time driving the truck! I needed to drive it up close so that Dad could then drive to Urgent Care to get x-rays for his ankle. The van was still at the dealer waiting in queue to get worked on (for a week at this point).Mom’s first time driving the truck!
